Student Survival Tips
The move online may present some challenges for many of you.
Here are a few tips to help you through...
1. STAY IN TOUCH
I urge you to be in contact with your professors to communicate any issues you are experiencing. We are committed to ensuring that you make it through the semester.
2. WORK WITH WHAT YOU'VE GOT
You may not have the materials you need to make what you wanted to make. Be creative and make something with what you have on hand.
3. STAY WHERE YOU ARE
Do not go out in search of art supplies or printing services or pay inflated prices to have them delivered. Save your money and save yourselves and the people around you from getting sick. Stay at home as much as possible and use your highly creative minds to make new work. Creative work is an adventure no matter where it happens.
4. BE SOCIALLY RESPONSIBLE
The more we limit contact with each other, the more successful we will be in limiting the size of the outbreak. Please reach out via text and video chats rather than having parties or get-togethers. This is critical and I urge you to take your actions very seriously. I realize this is hard, especially for young people who are healthy and active. But thus comes down to all of us. The sooner we isolate, the faster this will pass with exponentially less fatalities in our region and our nation.
Check out the HouseParty app, which allows video chats with small groups as a way to stay in touch with friends:
