Minor in Sculpture

Explore contemporary sculpture through hands-on exposure to a variety of sculptural experiences including foundry work for bronze and aluminum casting, mold-making and casting, clay modeling from the figure, steel fabrication and welding, and woodworking.

Students must complete 18 credits as specified below:

CORE choose one (3 credits)

  • ACR 1050 – Drawing I (3 cr)
  • ACO 1200 – Surface Studio (3 cr)
  • ACO 1230 – Space Studio (3 cr)
  • ACO 1270 – Time Studio (3 cr)

ART HISTORY choose one (3 credits)

  • AH 1110 – Survey of Art History: Ancient through Medieval (3 cr)
  • AH 1120 – Survey of Art History: Renaissance through Modern (3 cr)
  • AH 1130 – Encounters with the Arts of Global Africa (3 cr)

SCULPTURE COURSES (12 credits)

  • ASL 2150 – Beginning Sculpture (3 cr)

Select three courses (9 credits) from the following:

  • ASL 3150 – Intermediate Sculpture (3 cr)
  • ASL 3170 – Figurative Sculpture I (3 cr)
  • ASL 3190 – Sculpture Foundry I (3 cr)
  • ASL 5150 – Advanced Sculpture (3 cr)
