Studio Art Master of Fine Arts (MFA)

Majoring in Art with concentrations in Ceramics, Drawing, Fibers, Graphic Design, Metalsmithing, Painting, Photography, Printmaking or Sculpture.

Studio Art Master of Arts (MA)

Majoring in Art with concentrations Ceramics, Drawing, Fashion Design, Fibers, Graphic Design, Interior Design, Industrial Design, Metalsmithing, Painting, Photography, Printmaking or Sculpture.

Graduate Teaching Assistantships

The Department of Art and Art History offers a limited number of Graduate Teaching Assistantships to full-time students of superior ability and potential.

There are two GTA categories: Art History and Studio Art/ Design.

Apply to the Art and Art History Department Graduate Program

Complete the WSU online graduate application visit: WSU Graduate School. For admission consideration, submit the completed application, official transcripts, application fee, and other materials as directed.

Application Deadlines

The Art Department has one application deadline for the MFA in Studio Art and MA in Art History: January 15 (for study beginning in August).

The art department has two application deadlines for the MA in Studio Art: October 1 (for study beginning in January) and May 1 (for study beginning in August).

The Art Department has two application deadlines for the MA in Art History: October 1 (for study beginning in January) and January 15 (for study beginning in August).

The department deadlines supersede any other published deadline.

For all applications completed by the deadline, the applicant will receive a notification letter stating the department's decision. 

Graduate Teaching Assistantships Application Deadline

The department deadline for Graduate Teaching Assistantships is January 15. Applicants can download the GTA application form, print and complete the form, and either send it to the department via US Mail or submit it by email to graduateartanddesign@wayne.edu with a copy to art@wayne.edu.
