Biography

Melvin Rosas, MFA, Tyler School of Art, Temple University (Philadelphia, PA). In 1994, he received a Board of Governor’s Faculty Recognition Award from Wayne State University for outstanding professional achievement. His drawings and paintings have been exhibited extensively in local, national, and international venues and one can view his work in numerous corporate and private collections. The Davidson Contemporary Gallery, New York, NY has represented his work since 1991. He has been a recipient of grants from the National Endowment for the Arts, Washington, D.C.,1993 (Visual Artist’s Fellowship); the Elizabeth Foundation for the Arts Grant, New York, NY, 2003/2004; a Wayne State University Charles H. Gershenson Distinguished Faculty Award, 2006-2008; and a Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grant, New York, NY, 2009.
