Tri-County High School Exhibition is in the Art Dept. Gallery through Apr. 8

     The James Pearson Duffy Department of Art and Art History is pleased to present its annual Tri-­County High School Exhibition, March 25 through April 8, 2016, in the Art Department Gallery. A closing reception will be held on Friday, April 8, 5:00 to 8PM, with an awards presentation at 6:30PM.

     The exhibition features approximately 50 artworks created by high school students from Wayne, Oakland and Macomb counties. At the closing reception, awards will be given to students for their outstanding artworks in the exhibition. The awards include First Place, Second Place, Third Place, Teacher Award and three Honorable Mentions. This year’s guest juror is Millee Tibbs, assistant professor of photography at Wayne State University.

     Selected artworks were created by students from the following schools:  Bloomfield Hills High School, Cass Technical High, Detroit Country Day, Detroit School of the Arts, East Detroit, Fraser High, Grosse Pointe South, Groves High, Lake Orion, L’Anse Creuse, Lee M. Thurston, Livonia Churchill, North Farmington, Novi High, Richmond High, Rochester High, Stoney Creek, Troy Athens, Utica High and William D. Ford High School.

     This event is free and open to the general public. The Art Department Gallery is located in the Art Building on the campus of Wayne State University, near the intersection of Cass Avenue and Kirby Street.
