Metalsmithing major receives international award...
Metalsmithing major Kyle Dill was named a 2014 recipient of the prestigious Outstanding Student Achievement in Contemporary Sculpture award from the International Sculpture Center (ISC) in Hamilton, New Jersey. Dill was nominated for the award by his Wayne State faculty co-sponsors Eric Troffkin and Evan Larson-Voltz based on his 2014 piece pictured below titled Pull Tab Here.
Dill is among 22 winners in the juried competition. A distinguished panel of judges in the discipline deliberated over 904 sculptural works submitted from 374 students at over 151 college and university sculpture programs in North America and abroad.
Pull Tab Here displays at the Grounds for Sculpture in Hamilton, NJ from October 2014 through March 2015, with an October 17, 2014 opening reception in honor of the student awardees, their faculty sponsors and the institutions they represent.
