Connect: 2016 Undergraduate Exhibition in the Art Dept. Gallery

The James Pearson Duffy Department of Art and Art History is pleased to present Connect: 2016 WSU Undergraduate Exhibition at the Art Department Gallery, April 22 through May 27, 2016. An opening reception will be held Friday, April 22, 5-8PM, with the annual scholarship awards presentation at 6:30PM.

Connect is an exchange of ideas inspired by a wide range of creative approaches. The exhibition provides visibility for various mediums and communities within the department. It represents the students' desire to explore and link a variety of inspirations that exist beyond the confines of traditional academic boundaries. The unification of these different ideas addressing art is revealed through the thoughtful selection of works featured in the exhibition.

Connect is organized by the following students from the department's gallery internship course: Wejdan Ba-Arma, Emily Borden, Samantha Brenner, Maria D'Agostini, Lindsey Hart, Jannah Khalil, Andrew Morawski, Rachel Quell, Nicoletta Sarris, Alissa Seelmann-Rutkofske, Jena Smoyer and Shelbie Wright.

The James Pearson Duffy Department of Art and Art History is a division of Wayne State's College of Fine, Performing and Communication Arts, educating the next generation of visual artists, designers and art historians. Wayne State University, located in the heart of Detroit's midtown cultural center, is a premier urban research institution offering more than 380 academic programs through 13 schools and colleges to more than 27,000 students.
