PLEASE NOTE:
There are two components to your application: the Department application and the WSU Graduate Application. These offices are located in different buildings and each has an application process. You must complete both successfully for admission.
The Department graduate application deadlines are OCTOBER 1 and FEBRUARY 1 (for study beginning the following semester). These deadlines supersede any other published deadlines. The Department application materials may be obtained on-line or from the Department and are returned directly to the Department. Department application materials include the following: application forms, a letter of intent, a curriculum vita (CV), letters of recommendation, image portfolio (35mm slide or CD) or a writing sample for Art History applicants. These materials should be sent directly to the Department.
Please submit the WSU Graduate Application to the Office of Graduate Admissions. This includes the application form, an application fee, and official transcripts. After processing, the Office will forward the form and transcripts to the Department. In order for your Department application file to be completed in a timely fashion, please submit your WSU Graduate Application well before the Department deadline, allowing three to six weeks for the Office of Graduate Admissions to process and forward the materials.
Your Department file must be complete before the Department will make an admission decision. Any applications completed after the October 1 or February 1 deadline will be considered for next admission deadline (e.g. an application completed Oct. 10 will be reviewed after Feb. 1).
For applications completed by the deadline, the applicant will receive a notification letter stating the department's admission decision. The notification letter will be sent within 4 to 6 weeks from the application deadline.
