High School Art Teacher Advisory Group

The Department of Art and Art History offers a High School Art Teacher Advisory Group. The Group has special access and opportunities for collegial discussion with department faculty and staff, with intention of assisting students as they transition from high school to college.

The group is open to any committed high school art teacher, advisor, or school administrator. Typically, the group convenes on the WSU campus four times per year, as well as for special events, exhibitions, and workshops.

The High School Art Teacher Advisory Group is one component of the Department of Art and Art History's ongoing commitment to educational outreach and community service.

TRI-COUNTY HIGH SCHOOL EXHIBITION (Main Tri-County High School page link):

The Department hosts annual tri-county high school exhibitions. The Tri-County High School Exhibition features approximately 75 artworks created by high school students from Wayne, Oakland and Macomb counties. At the opening reception, awards are given to students for their outstanding artworks. The awards include scholarships, workshop opportunities and gift certificates for art supplies.

Community College Art Professor Advisory Group

The Department of Art and Art History is currently forming a Community College Art Professor Advisory Group. As with the High School Advisory Group, the Community College Art Professor Advisory Group wil have special access and opportunities for collegial discussion with department faculty and staff, with intention of assisting students as they transition from community college to university.

The group is open to any committed community college art professor, advisor, or school administrator. The group plans to convene on the WSU campus four times per year, as well as for special events, exhibitions, and workshops.  Any individual who wishes to participate in the activities of this group should contact artstaff@wayne.edu.  Mention the Community College Art Advisory Group in the subject line.

The Community College Art Professor Advisory Group will be one more component of the Department of Art and Art History's ongoing commitment to educational outreach and community service.
