Wayne State University

Visit the department

WSU's James Pearson Duffy Department of Art and Art History is pleased to offer a department visit experience. An academic advisor will take you on a facilities tour. Along the way, you’ll have opportunities to talk with faculty and current students and to observe class or studio work in progress.

Visits are designed for all students interested in pursuing studies in ceramics, drawing, fibers, graphic design, industrial design, interior design, interdisciplinary electronic arts, metalsmithing, painting, photography, printmaking, sculpture, art history or fashion design and merchandising.

The visit involves walking and can range from 1 to 2 hours. Please wear comfortable shoes and dress for outdoor weather. The visit begins in the Art Building, Room 101. Please see the campus map for the Art Building location and parking information for guest parking locations and fees. The closest parking structure to the Art Building is Structure #1 at the corner of Cass Ave. and Palmer St.

High school students are encouraged to talk with their high school guidance counselor with regard to missing school for a college or university campus visit. Each visit starts at 10:00 a.m. Please RSVP for one of the following dates. With questions, please call 313-577-2980 or email art@wayne.edu. We look forward to seeing you soon!
